2.5 inch tubes on 3.5 inch spacing

  • Provides a much higher ratio of directly water cooled to indirectly water cooles surface.
  • Lower thermal stress on the membrane bar. Provides longer life and higher reliability.
  • The larger tubes and closer spacing makes the wall stronger, adding top the overall ruggedness of the furnace. 100% Water cooled rear wall
  • Studded tubes form a water cooled barrier to protect the inner casing from radiant heat or direct contact with flue gas.
  • The flat studs are cooled by the tubes. Stus, rather than fins, do not crack and damage the tubes from thermal fatigue.
  • Circulation is superior as the tubes flow directly from the lower drum to the upper drum without intervening headers or supplies. First quality firebrick front wall
  • The B&W front wall is not "Refactory" it is laid fire brick. This is a more forgiving of thermal cycles than refractory, yeilding a much lower maintenance requirement.
  • The firebrick is backed by a high temperature insulation and a 1/4" thick front plate. Fire brick covered floor tubes
  • The floor of the furnace is covered witha layer of 2 1/2" thick fire brick. This assures that no excessive steaming will take place in the floor, deliviering solid water to the walls. The brick may be omitted on some units firin low radiant combustion fuels, such as natural gas, CO gas, etc.
